How it all started...
In 1879, a group of men and women stepped out in faith to plant a new church in the heart of Ashland. Born out of New Salem Baptist Church, Ashland Baptist was rooted in a deep love for the Gospel and a passion for missions. With just 40 charter members and a commitment to God’s call, the church quickly grew and became a spiritual home for many.
From the beginning, our mission has been clear: to faithfully proclaim Christ, build each other up in love, and reach the world with the hope of the Gospel.

Expanding the vision...
As Ashland Baptist Church grew, so did our vision. What began as a small congregation has developed into a thriving community focused on living out the Gospel in everyday life. We’re committed to expanding our reach by equipping believers through deeper discipleship, energizing our worship gatherings to reflect God’s glory, and engaging our neighbors with meaningful outreach.

At Ashland Baptist Church, we’re stepping into the future with clarity and conviction. Our goal is to be a church that encourages, equips, and empowers people in three key relationships—upward with Jesus, inward with each other, and outward with our community.
As we move forward, we're focused on preaching Christ boldly, loving our neighbors intentionally, and building a church family that lives out the Gospel with purpose. Through vibrant worship, deep discipleship, and active outreach, we're praying that God will use ABC to make a lasting impact in Ashland and beyond—for His glory and the good of others.
