WHY DO WE CELEBRATE EASTER?

Easter is a celebration of new life. It's more than the story of spring and the newness that blooms from the ground, the brighter colors, and the joy of sun; it is the celebration of a greater hope. We celebrate Easter because we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He gave Himself up to live a perfect human life so that He would become the perfect sacrifice for human sin. As God, Jesus stepped into our world and changed everything. Leading up to Easter, we remember His great sacrifice by recounting His horrific betrayal, suffering, and death on a cross. Jesus was buried in a grave for three days, fully void of life; and on the first Easter morning, Jesus appeared to His followers, fully alive, in physical form with the scars of His crucifixion still visible. All of this because of His great love for us.

Easter reminds us that Jesus is worthy of all of our adoration and praise. He is worthy because He fulfills the promise of a Savior for a broken world. He is worthy because He came to earth and revealed His great love to us that, "while we were still sinners [He] died for us."He is worthy because He proved, after being dead for three days, that He rose from the grave by revealing Himself to hundreds of witnesses before ascending to heaven where He sits on throne as our worthy King.

HE IS WORTHY!
